FX型水力旋流器是在金属选矿厂中常用于第二段磨矿或粗矿在磨流程中和机械分级机成闭路使用，发取代机检分级机，安粒度大小进行分级作业。该设备具有结构简单、寿命长、生产能力大、占地面积小、不消耗动力等优点。是一种高效的细微粒微分级，脱泥设备。本产品由原地矿部唯一指定企业生产，执行行业标准。

该设备的工作原理是是离心沉降，当待分离的两相混合液以一定压力从给矿口却线方向进入旋流器后，产生强烈的三维椭圆型强旋转剪却旋流流动。由于粗颗粒与细颗粒之间存在粒度差，在离心力、向心力、浮力、流体阻力等作用下大部分粗颗粒按螺旋轨迹下旋到底部，作为沉砂口排出，细颗粒作为溢流从溢流管排出。

该设备适于选矿选煤过程中浓缩分级、脱砂、脱泥、脱水、分选、分离节等，具有高效并有可能替代螺旋分级机作业。
